Questions my students ask...
Freshman history is highly entertaining. They love stories (I shared my buffalo experience at Yellowstone this summer), and I think they enjoy notes. (at least I haven’t heard them complain yet. But notes with lots of video clips and sound effects help!)
I learn a ridiculous amount from my kids. They always ask at least one thing each class that I can make an educated guess on, but have...

What if its more?
Teacher comes in to lunch. Tells us about his fourth hour class. Fully expect one of those venting situations, “you’ll never guess who said this.” Come to find out one of our students strangled himself in class. The teacher got to him in time, but too late for a traumatized group of tenth graders.

It is terribly interesting that these are the readings for today. The readings are on a three year cycle, so we wouldn’t necessarily have heard these last year or the year before. It is a beautiful series of readings today.

These are some of the things that break my heart while teaching
“The most influential person in my life is ______________________ because ___________________________________”

l'espoir: Emotional Virginity: There's more to... →
I am so guilty of everything she lists here. I have always called myself an emotional slut (pardon the language), but there really is a different aspect to purity. Purity of heart, mind, body, and soul. Body is surprisingly the easy one. But the Lord calls us to be higher than that, right? Holy Mary, pray for us.

10th Anniversary
I teach freshman history. How do you appropriately explain/teach this to kids who were too young to remember this now? How do you plan on teaching this next week?
